Left: 1904 Vertical tucking on the bodice is repeated in horizonal tucking on the skirt. Silk georgette with darling mother of pearl miniature buttons adorn the bodice. A seperate long wrap belt features tassels on each end. Displayed with her wedding hanky.
Right: 1912 Detailed with handsewn French knots along the square neckline, the gown features a hobble skirt very popular in this time period. |
